Texas Vehicle Emissions Testing in Georgetown, TX
Do You Still Need a Texas Vehicle Inspection?
Texas ended required safety inspections for non-commercial vehicles on January 1, 2025. Emissions testing remains required for eligible vehicles registered in Williamson County. Gasoline-powered vehicles generally need annual emissions testing when they are 2 through 24 years old. Electric-only vehicles, diesel vehicles and motorcycles are exempt from emissions testing. Commercial safety-inspection requirements are separate.
Lansdale Automotive offers vehicle emissions testing in Georgetown. Call 512-869-1146 before visiting to confirm current testing availability, the requirements for your vehicle, fees and whether an appointment is needed. Bring proof of insurance and your registration renewal information if available.
A check-engine light or incomplete emissions readiness monitors can affect the test result. Let us know about recent battery replacement, repairs or warning lights so we can discuss the next steps. Clearing codes does not repair a fault and can reset readiness monitors.
